Hi y'all,
Why do Vista's explorer's window panes resize to default (left side slim, right side most of explorer, top left links pane/segment large) each time I close and restart it? I have saved window size by closing while holding shift, but everything else comes up default. I don't like the left side being so small, and I don't like the animation/shifting left or right as I move up and down the column. I have the explorer set to classic view.
Thanks.
Robert

explorer resets pane size
Yeah, I don't like that either. I am hoping that it is still just a work in progress and it will remember user settings in later builds. I really don't care for the new Windows Explorer at all. I am trying real hard to like it, and I keep telling myself to "give it a chance" and not be one of those people that just hates change but I really really really don't like it much. I sent my comments to MS but I doubt at this late juncture it will do any good. Paula

Paula,
I agree with everything you said, and I'm trying to give it a chance, too. I personally think MS has made the explorer more "user unfriendly," and that goes double for "search." That's not to say I dislike Vista in general, just explorer, search, and UAC. Note: I do like UAC in theory, I just don't like the fact that it doesn't save/remember my preferences. I, too, hope they'll fix everything before they release the final version, or I'll have no choice but to find software that will do what I want.
